Anne Ipsen is a writer, speaker, and environmentalist. She is the author of two memoirs and five novels. All have historical themes, except the latest, Green Valley, a Climate

Change Novel, which takes place in the near future and describes a rural community that models a resilient way of life as New England leads the Carbon Revolution.

Before leaving academia in order to write full-time, Dr. Ipsen was Professor of Public Health at the University of Minnesota. More recently, Anne’s interests have turned to the environment and the looming disasters associated with climate change. She started working on divestment from fossil fuel investments, first through her church and then with the Creation Care Team of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. This team sponsors programs and provides speakers on environmental topics, including the Creation Tithing Program, for which the Primer is intended as a workbook. The goal of the program is to stimulate ideas, conversation, and action by recognizing that climate change is the most pressing moral crisis of our age.

Anne and her husband live in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They have three children and five grandchildren. For more information about her books visit: www.AnneIpsen.com

Ken Kroes is an environmental writer living near Calgary, Canada. His works include "Feasible Planet - A guide to more sustainable living" and the "Percipience" Eco-Fiction Series. His passion about sustainable living is due, in part, to experiences gained through extensive travel and living in many locations. His diverse background, which includes agriculture, engineering, and information systems, comes through in his environmental writing along with his strong faith in God.

He strongly believes that governments and businesses need help from each of us in solving our environmental issues. This Primer is a perfect example of outlining how each of us can do more and he is thrilled to have been part of its development.

Ken has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and is an active member of the Okotoks Evangelical Free Church. For more information on his work visit: www.feasibleplanet.com.
